Course description: Amharic is a national official language of Ethiopia. It is related to Semitic languages like Arabic and Hebrew. However, due to contact with other Ethiopian languages, the structure of Amharic differs considerably from that of other Semitic languages. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to speak, read and write Amharic at a basic level.
Total duration: 2 semesters.
Course frequency: The courses are taught every year.
